[ Spooky reluctantly pulls away from Kyle and heads over to talk to Amanda. It doesn't take long after tugging his shirt down enough to show the glow lighting up his chest from the inside out. Amanda doesn't look upset, more resigned than anything before sending Spooky back to Kyle. ]
She says she can give us maybe half an hour. Any longer and the others will notice we're gone.
[ And that's only if Mitch hasn't already heard everything they've just said. ]
Okay. [ That's good enough for Kyle. Grabbing his very very very new soulmate by the hand, he starts walking him with all haste to somewhere more secluded. It's all flat terrain, but if they get far enough away, it should be fine.
Mitch better mind his own business, though! He doesn't look overhead as far as Kyle can see, so he finally stops and turns around into Spooky with his hand still in his friend's. ]
To be fair, it's not like either of us planned for this to happen. But...
[ Spooky puts a hand on Kyle's cheek. There's not much warning beyond that before he's leaning in to kiss him. It's nothing serious, just testing the waters. When Spooks pulls back, he grins. ]
I could think of people way worse to have as a soulmate than you.
[ The kiss part, that's nice. His heart beats fast as he takes in a big breath of air through his nose. Somehow Spooks suddenly smells a bit different, almost something like home.
The comment, however, makes his heart seize like a cold hand grabbing it. ]

[ He's not sure if he should laugh it off or what. ]
[ Oh god. Thank you utter lack of brain-to-mouth filter. Spooky actually looks embarrassed by that verbal fuck up. Where's Fluke to smack him this time? ]

I meant, like... I'm not an ideal soulmate for anyone. I was half braced to find out some crazy would light up for me in the middle of a fight. And instead I got the nicest, most kind-hearted guy I know.

I thought—I dunno. They'd have to be someone strong to stand up to my fire. So Duncan came along and it made so much sense. He told me everything I wanted to hear, and like a sucker I fell for it...
[ Something tells Kyle he wanted to be used. He should have questioned how perfect this fantasy was. ]
Hope so... [ He closes his eyes, enjoying how close his friend is to him. His skin is cool, but it's always cooler than him. ] I'm sorry.

[ One hand comes up cup Kyle's cheek before kissing him again. This time it's got more passion in it fueled by Spooky's determination to wipe away the hurt that the Annihilator gave him. Kyle deserves so much better than to feel like that. When he finally comes up for air he grins at Kyle. ]

[ That sure lights a fire in him, literally. His body grows warmer in Spooky's embrace as he follows along with his soulmate, even stumbling forward when he breaks the kiss.
Damn. There's no way he would have followed after Duncan that way. It was like a light was dimming in him the further Spooky pulled away from him. That's going to take some getting used to.
It takes him a moment to open his eyes and look Spooks in the face. ]

[ He laughs a little sheepishly before he brings his hand up engulfed in a soft flame. There's concern on Kyle's face, but Spooky knows what he's doing. No one knows more about this crazy stuff than him. ]
[ It's hard not to grin when you've just gotten the stamp of approval on your kissing technique. He pushes those thoughts to the side though as he summons a ribbon of green fire to interact with Kyle's flames. All the time he's known Kyle, he assumed that his powers were a mutation. There had never been any heavy motivation to investigate them when there was such a convenient explanation right there.
But now... as his magic interacts with it he sees the truth. There is demon magic in the flames. Hell fire in the hands of a truly good person is an odd thought. It's promising though. ]
...I think with some research I could find a way to work with this. I know how to handle hell fire. It was the first magic I ever did.
Yeah? [ There's so much hope in that one word. After six years of this "condition" he had stopped hoping that he would ever have a normal life. And if he never did, that was okay because he helped people; that would always be more important. But now maybe there's a chance at something more. ] Thanks. Maybe I can finally be with someone—With you.
[ It's hard to remember that he's no longer an individual. He has unconditional love in front of him, or at least that's what everyone says about it. Kyle hopes it's true. Extinguishing the flame from his hand, he places it tentatively along the side of Spooky's neck. He can feel the pulse in his throat, or maybe it's his own. Either way, nothing is going to stop him tilting the man's chin up and resuming where they left off with their kiss. He is going to make sure he remembers this for the rest of his life. ]

[ The words are completely honest. Finding out that Kyle was so desperate to be intimate with someone that he'd turn to The Annihilator to help was awful. He deserved better than some old man who just wanted to use him. Or at the very least he deserved an old dude who only wanted him for sex and not world domination.
But that train of thought is quickly derailed because Kyle is kissing him and it deserves so much more of his attention than thinking about what a dick Duncan is. Spooky's hands find their way down to his waist. It doesn't take long for him to pull Kyle flush against him. God, he'd kill to have more time and maybe a room with a lock so he could do this right. ]
[ Well, when have their lives ever been convenient. Such is the curse of being a super hero. But they will make do; super heroes are very inventive after all.
With regret he pulls away from Spooky to get a few more words in, but he places one last kiss at the corner of his mouth. ]
There's not a lot I can do for you right now, but... I can at least do this.
[ Keeping his blue eyes on Spooky, he gets down on his knees, red hands sliding down to those baggy pants. Even through the fabric, Kyle's hands are so warm palming Spooky's groin. It's impossible to miss really. ]
[ Spooky barely has a chance to ask what Kyle's doing before his hands are on his crotch. The heat from his hands is distracting and, frankly, a huge turn on. It eould be so easy to go along with it because damn does he want to.
He takes a deep breath and plants his hands on Kyle's shoulders to try and get him to slow down. ]

[ That makes his heart hurt. For all of his loss as a kid, Spooky is the kindest person he's ever met. He is always giving his time and energy to help strangers and friends alike.

[ He sounds so definite, like it's only a matter of time. It's what gets him off the ground and wrapping his big arms around Spooky. Maybe a little too tightly. Kyle just has a lot of emotions right now, okay? This seems the best way to express them. ]
[ Hugs are one of Spooky's specialties thankfully. When you've got a bit of squish to you it's a given that hugs are a thing. Of course he's still trying to think some unsexy thoughts so Kyle doesn't get distracted by the halfie he's still sporting. ]
We've got plenty of time to figure ourselves out. I'm not going to start things unfairly.
